The poetic form of the ghazal did not exist in German literature, and it was known in German literature in the Romantic period, especially after the translation of Hafez's Divan into German. It was used by the great poets of that period, such as Goethe, as a free structure of the ghazal in the West-East Divan. Since the structure of Persian ghazal is very different from the common structure of German poetry in terms of rhythm and rhyme. In some examples written and translated, the structure of the ghazal and the form of its rhyme have been exaggerated. The difficulty of writing a ghazal in German is finding the right rhyme, and for this reason, it gives an artificial structure to the poem and reduces its beauty. In this article, after briefly introducing the structure of German poetry, and introducing some German lyric poets and translators, the German translations of some examples of Saadi's ghazals will be analysed from the point of view of rhyme, how the poet's pseudonym is transferred in the translations, and some remarkable features of these translations will be examined.
