Sufis have considered patience as one of the authorities of conduct, and in its
definition they say that patience is the self-control of the self from expressing
grievances and complaints to other than God, and there are many types for that;
One of them is patience in obedience and perseverance in carrying out orders and
avoiding prohibitions. Patience in obedience leads to advancement in the ranks
of faith and human kingdom. Therefore, Maulvi compares man to Yusuf, the
world of appearance to a well, and patience to obedience to a string. He believes
that the Prophet was able to ascend to the heavens through the position of
patience. Most of Rumi's words in the Masnavi are about resistance and patience
against the tendencies of the soul, which causes divine attributes and powers to
manifest in the soul.
Rumi expresses the important role of patience in bringing human beings to the
position of annihilation for the sake of God and survival after annihilation. In the
sixth book, in the conclusion of the story of Sultan Mahmud and Ghulam Hindu,
he considers the patience of the moon against the night as the reason for it to take
light from the sun; Also, the flower's patience against the thorn is considered to
be the reason for its fragrance; However, in Ghazliat, Rumi is impatient in front
of the manifestation of his beloved beauty, as a result of which his tongue is
overflowing with sekr in Majlis-e-Sama. In this article, an attempt has been
