Semantic metamorphosis is an important branch of semantics that studies the evolution of meaning in different units of language that has always remained hidden from the eyes of ordinary speakers of a linguistic community and has received little attention; while searches over time indicate extensive semantic changes at the level of words; especially words that have entered Persian from another language and have acquired a second identity. In this study, the semantic evolution of the word Rana has been studied in texts since the fourth century to the present in order to find out what semantic fate this word has faced. The following article, which was prepared using an analytical-descriptive method from library sources, shows that the word Rana has undergone semantic expansion and advancement after entering Persian and has lost its original meanings such as idiot and fool. After several centuries of use in the Persian language in the geography of ancient Iran, it took on positive meanings and was used in the meanings of beautiful, beautiful, tall, handsome, and charming lover. The common denominator of all combinations is the concept of beauty.
